THE RULES: What could be easier??? All you have to do is pick one NFL game correctly each week. Just pick the winner.....you don't have to worry about the point spread. If you keep picking a winner each week of the regular season until nobody else is left in the pool, you win the entire pot. There is one small catch......you are only allowed to use each team ONCE. That's right, only ONCE in the entire season for any team...you have to pick your spots carefully for using the top teams because late in the season it might get pretty hard to find a team you are confident in. In the unlikely event that multiple entrants pick perfectly for the entire regular season, the pool will be divided. Normally, you are eliminated if you fail to pick a winner. The one exception is if ALL remaining entrants pick a loser in a given week. In that situation, all entrants are given a reprieve and continue to pick to determine a single winner of the pool. Pool is only divided if the regular season ends without a single winner. Entry fees are $50, with a maximum of two entries per person. Entrants and picks will be posted on a Google Sheet (link is in shaded area at the top). ADDITIONAL RULES Your picks must be submitted by email to abhand@earthlink.net or psmisterbill@gmail.com by 9 P.M. (Pacific time) each FRIDAY night of the season (they must be in by 9 P.M. Wednesday before any Thursday game that you wish to use). NOTE: As I am accepting entries until Saturday night of opening week, only Sunday games can be used in week one. Obviously, it would help us if you got your picks in early each week. IMPORTANT - If no pick is received, you will automatically be given the most heavily-favored team that you haven't previously used. Favorites will be determined by using the Friday lines published at this website: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/nfl/odds. When an entrant has not submitted a pick for a week, I will go top to bottom at that website in determining the heaviest favorites (in case two teams are favored by the same number of points). Obviously, if everyone submits their picks by deadline time we will never have to worry about this situation (HINT, HINT). Each week’s picks will normally be entered and displayed on the Google Sheet by 24 hours after the deadline or by 30 minutes before any Saturday game’s kickoffs. Any necessary default picks will be included at that time. You must do two things to enter...send me an email to abhand@earthlink.net to confirm that you are entering the pool by the entry deadline AND send me a check or make a Paypal or Venmo payment (hopefully, before the third week's games) for your fee. As long as you are paying from your Paypal balance or associated bank account, you will not be charged a fee. Do not include the word "pool" or anything else in your Paypal or Venmo comments. I'll know what the payment is for. Good luck...let's make it a huge pool!! One other thing!! Don't despair if you get knocked out of the pool. We will be running a second pool that will begin in week 10. and continue into the playoffs.
