Assuming you've read "Meet Mr. Bill", you know that I run a variety of pools throughout the year. Each of the pools will have its own set of rules and guidelines with specific dates, entry qualifications, deadlines and payout procedures. However, there are a few items which are true about the pools in general. WHO MAY PLAY: My pools are open to everyone who happens across my website, sees the info posted on a BBS of some sort, or hears about them from a friend. To enter, I must know your real name, a verifiable email address, and mailing address, information that I will never share commercially. If you already have a satisfactory history in playing the pools, that is, you pay up in a timely manner, then that's all there is to it. If you are vouched for by an established player, that works also. If you are new to the pool, you will be asked to pay as soon as possible on the long term pools. On the short term pools (one event, e.g. The Masters), payment per the mailing instructions following the event will be expected to be prompt. History of late or non-payment will be grounds for refusing any future entries. HOW WE PAY: On single event pools, we work on the honor system. No money will be collected in advance of the event. Upon the conclusion of the event, I will post mailing instructions which will tell you to whom your money should be sent. Your address will appear on this list if you are a winner to whom money is owed. The recipients will keep track of who has paid and notify me of any stragglers or failures to pay. We have had very good luck with this system, and thankfully only a few who never paid. On multiple event pools, you will send your money directly to me by the deadline stated in the instructions specific to the pool. I will deposit all checks and hold the money until payouts are due. I accept checks, money orders, and Paypal. If you have money coming from another pool, you can leave some money on account and have it applied to future pools. RESULTS: Results of pools are posted at misterbill.org, including daily updates on major events. Results are posted as soon as Mrs. Bill and I can prepare them. When there are errors, corrections will be posted the following day and so noted. Occasionally when we travel, we may have trusted friends handling the entries and results of the pools. This will be clearly stated in the specific pool instructions. Results generally will still be posted on my website. Updates to some of the longer running pools may be delayed when we are traveling, but they will be brought up to date as soon as internet access and time permit. PAYOUTS: I pay all large pools for which I have collected money within a day or two of the event. Other payouts are dependent upon the speed of the players following the mailing instructions as noted above.
